We face many challenges regarding the aging infrastructure, particularly the sewer lines. Broken sewer lines and laterals have been a great contributor to the inflow and infiltration problems plaguing our sewer treatment plant. This problem is being addressed by sewer main repair work and sewer lateral inspections and repairs.

Another challenge we face is revitalizing our downtown district. I place a priority on enhancing our sense of community and am glad to announce that several of our vacant downtown buildings have recently sold to owners who are interested in bringing more business to the downtown. Helping these new owners think outside the box and determine what businesses models work will create a successful downtown.
