Council Rock School District School Director Region 6

4 YR TERM. A school board is a legislative body of citizens called school directors, who are elected locally by their fellow citizens and who serve as the governing body of each public school district. Each board consists of nine members who serve four-year terms of office. Unlike most other elected officials, school directors receive no compensation for their work. Principal duties include appointing and/or dismissing superintendents, principals and teachers; levying school taxes; purchasing land; locating new buildings; adopting textbooks and courses of study; fixing salaries of teachers and other appointees of the Board.

Experience Superintendent of Schools in the Edgewater Park Township School District since 2013. School Principal from 2006 to 2013. Music teacher for 13 years.

Schools and education are my passion. I love doing the work of school boards. With over 28 years of experience in public education (8 as a Superintendent), I want to give back to my community and serve CRSD. Let's work together to support teaching & learning and achieve great things for our kids. They deserve it!
From my experience as a public school teacher, principal, and superintendent, I am fluent in all areas of school operations. This includes curriculum & instruction, personnel, school finance, school law, special education, public relations, and health & safety protocols. I led a comprehensive strategic planning process that brought multiple stakeholder groups together to create a shared vision, identify points of pride, and achieve multiple meaningful goals. My experience has given me a clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a School Board Director and the skills to hit the ground running. I will approach the role of Director with a mindset of continual improvement and fiscal responsibility. Council Rock Strong!
This is a topic that should be addressed collaboratively. My priority would be to work together with Board, staff, parents, and students to assess the needs in this area. Then work together to decide the best way to proceed.
The District should preponderance of evidence made available by public health experts to align our safety protocols. This will ensure our best chances of keeping our schools open and keeping kids in schools.
Experience As a professionally licensed Architect, I manage my own firm, Synergy Architects. I currently serve on the board for the Youngs Memorial Cemetery in Oyster Bay, NY. Also, Local HOA where I live.

I believe that it is important to listen to the concerns of our district Council Rock families and work together to find solutions to solve district issues quickly and efficiently. Once elected as School Director for Region #6, I will keep kids first. My wife and I have three kids currently enrolled in the school district; I have a vested interest in the success of this district. I will work with the other board members to solve the current problems our school district is facing, such as budget shortfalls and achievement gaps. I am motivated to run for this position as I feel my experience in running a company, interfacing with people, and my ability to collaboratively problem solve will be an asset to this school board. As an architect, I present both a technical and creative approach to problem solving.
As a former Human Resources manager and licensed architect, I bring a creative and technical approach to problem solving. My experience is in listening to other’s concerns and creating plans and solutions to meet needs, and then executing plans, interfacing with others and resolving issues along the way. My skills are suited to a position such as this and I’d be honored to be a part of this board.
