Nashville-Davidson Co Circuit Court Judge Div III

Circuit Courts are courts of general jurisdiction in Tennessee. Among the types of cases heard by the Circuit Courts in Davidson County are contract disputes, civil torts, condemnations, worker’s compensation claims, domestic matters and the administration of estates. Circuit court judges hear appeals of decisions from Juvenile, Municipal, and General Sessions Courts. The jurisdiction of circuit courts often overlaps that of the chancery courts. Criminal cases are tried in separate criminal courts in Davidson County.

Third Circuit Court is a family law court. I practiced family law for 37 years before being elected to the bench where I have served for the last ten years. I have a tremendous amount of experience in this area of the law.
Divorce is one of the most emotionally-devastating experiences one can suffer. The quicker it can be resolved, the sooner people can move forward with their lives. It is important to help the parties and attorneys resolve the case as expeditiously as possible. Quick access to the court and a speedy resolution benefits everyone, especially the children.
To efficiently handle cases in Third Circuit Court and to treat the litigants and attorneys with respect, courtesy and patience.
