Term: 4 yearsThe sheriff is an elected constitutional officer and is responsible for the administration of the HCSO, which includes law enforcement operations within the county, serving the court’s process, and the operation of Silverdale Detention Center. Created in 1819, the HCSO comprises more than 540 certified, sworn, and civilian personnel consisting of several areas of service including law enforcement, corrections, investigative, and court security-based operations. The HCSO also comprises several specialty units, including an underwater Forensic Dive Team, Drone Unit, SWAT Team, Marine Patrol Unit, and School Resource Deputy Unit.
