I will be a present and full time Clerk for the People of DuPage County. - Mother of three - Attorney at Law - Former Illinois Lieutenant Governor - Former Wheaton Councilmember - Former Illinois Assistant Attorney General - Former Adjunct Professor of Law
The major challenge facing constituents is the lack confidence in the Clerk's Office. First: DuPage did not receive up to $4 million in Cannabis Sales Tax Revenue, because the Clerk failed to provide the state with a certified copy of An Ordinance Establishing a Cannabis Retailers' Occupation Tax by 10/30/19. Second: The Clerk missed the deadline to approve new precinct maps, thereby adding more confusion in our elections. Third: The Clerk has failed to personally attend a County Board meeting since March 10, 2020. I will address this challenge by being a Full Time Clerk. The County Clerk oversees the election, vital records and revenue divisions, and serves as Secretary to the County Board. As an attorney by trade, I solve problems for a living by listening to clients, showing up to court and meeting deadlines. As a former elected official I also provided much needed outcomes for constituents of all walks of life. This experience makes me uniquely qualified to be your Clerk.
With the new permanent vote by mail program, I will ensure its success by cleaning the voter rolls to decrease the possibility of voter fraud. Specifically, I will remove the dead as well as those who have moved out of the district from our voter rolls. The Clerk’s Office receives daily updates of deeds from the Recorder's Office. The Clerk’s Office also receives death certificates from the health department. I will cross reference this information and information from other sources to clean our voter rolls.

I will streamline the marriage license application process by allowing couples to fill them out online; thus reducing their time at the Clerk's Office. I will continue to advocate for the expansion of online services by pursuing legislation to file budgets and levies online with digital signatures rather than in person seals.

I will be a full time Clerk who personally attends County Board meetings, where the Clerk has an official statutory role and prioritize outreach.
