I’m Jeanne Hendricks, a mom, nurse, and the Democratic nominee for U.S. Congress in Minnesota’s 6th District running to defeat National Republican Congressional Committee Chair and U.S. Rep. Tom Emmer. I’ll fight for women's rights, to lower inflation, to create family wage paying jobs, to pass more common-sense gun-safety legislation, to lower health care costs, to act on climate change, and to defend our democracy by listening to and directly addressing concerns of the people. I’ll strongly support our moms, fathers, children, grandparents, first responders, labor union workers, veterans, farmers, teachers, nurses, senior citizens, and I’ll work to end systemic inequities in our society so that everyone has a fair shot based on equality.
Over 300 mass shootings have been committed since the start of 2022. The Congress responded to the gun crisis with the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. U.S. Rep. Tom Emmer voted NO. The Act provides some of the resources needed to protect our children. Jeanne Hendricks would have voted for the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act and as the next U.S. Rep., Jeanne Hendricks will support passing more common-sense gun-safety legislation in the U.S. House to reduce gun violence.
Jeanne Hendricks is passionate about environmental protection issues and climate change. She is committed to protecting our environment for Minnesota’s families. She supports the goals of the BlueGreen Alliance which works to unite labor unions and environmental organizations to solve today’s environmental challenges in ways that create and maintain quality jobs and build a clean, thriving, and equitable economy. She will be a champion for our environment, and act on climate change in Congress.
Jeanne Hendricks supports budget neutral spending exemplified by the Inflation Reduction Act. She will work with labor unions, environmental organizations, business leaders, community leaders, and our citizens to solve today’s economic challenges in ways that create and maintain quality jobs and build a clean, thriving, and equitable economy. She will work for economic stability that encourages our best and brightest to stay working right here, building a stronger central Minnesota.
Jeanne Hendricks is a mom and nurse, and health care is very important to her. She supports changes that will help control health care costs, while still achieving high-quality care and universal basic coverage for everyone. Whether we choose Medicare for All, the Affordable Care Act, or the public option, we need to be sure we achieve these goals. On reproductive health, Jeanne strongly supports a women’s right to make her own reproductive health care decisions, privately with her own doctor.
Jeanne Hendricks will defend our democracy and our right to vote. Our right to vote, guaranteed by the Constitution, in a free and reliable election must be protected from our enemies, both foreign and domestic. She believes that every eligible American voter should be allowed to vote conveniently, without long delays, without discrimination, regardless of socioeconomic status, in a safe and secure atmosphere, and if necessary, by a secure and reliable mail-in ballot.
