1) Ensuring that our elections are free and fair. Supporting legislation that maintains all Minnesotans' ability to vote. Defending same-day voter registration and blocking any legislation that makes it harder to vote.

2) Addressing the problem of gun violence--supporting raising the age at which a person can buy an assault weapon, red flag laws, and increased gun safety training.

3) Protecting a woman's access to reproductive healthcare, including the right to an abortion.
I would block any legislation that creates barriers to Minnesotans' freedom to vote. I support making Election Day a holiday.
Initially, as a newly-elected legislator just learning how the system works, I see myself as actively working to dismantle institutional racism and racial/ethnic disparities by voting against any proposed legislation that harms, denigrates, or devalues people of color. And I would vote in favor of any legislation that promotes or advances racial equity in general.
One way would be to support increased funding for Minnesota's public schools. A strong education system is one way to support a vibrant economy. Another thing I would do is address the current worker shortage. One way to ease this is to make it easier for immigrants and new Americans to fill jobs. I support state funding for Minnesota's Office of New Americans, which is trying to make it easier for them to enter the workforce and/or start new businesses.
I support raising the age at which a person can buy an assault weapon. I support red flag laws. I support mandatory gun training programs for gun owners.
