1. CONTROL INFLATION! If our families have to cut back expenses during inflationary times, so must state government! Also convince Mr. Biden to open domestic energy production which will lower fuel costs, and in turn the inflation rate! 2. GET TOUGH ON CRIME! Prioritize law enforcement spending; increase sentences for repeat violent offenders; and steer kids away from criminality through targeted youth programs. Hold prosecutors accountable to prosecute. 3. PURSUE ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE! After years of Covid-disruptions, reinvest in proven literacy programs to ensure all kids can read at grade level; empower parents in their child’s education, including curriculum transparency; and provide adequate funding to address equity issues.
Security of our election system is of utmost concern. Our goal should be both “quality and quantity” of voter participation. A government-approved photo ID, treating all voters the same would greatly improve integrity. With little exception nearly everyone has a photo ID, but we can provide one to the very few who cannot afford it. MN has one of the highest voter participation rates in the nation. We must continue our education and promotion to keep this rate high.
Equal opportunity must be assured for anyone to have a chance at success in our society. Although the motivation of the individual may be the dominant factor of one’s success, the access to education, employment, career advancement, and safety must be applied equally and enforced to prevent the abuse and exploitation of others based on physical, social or cultural differences.
Rising inflation is the equivalent of an unseen tax increase! To create a vibrant economy, it’s time to be competitive. We must reduce government-imposed taxes, fees, and regulations that hamper job growth, and lower taxes to attract better jobs. Finally, we must REPEAL MN’S INCOME TAX ON SOCIAL SECURITY CHECKS that burdens many of our senior citizens on fixed retirement incomes. MN’s status as the 6th highest tax-and-spend state is hurting us.
PROSECUTE THOSE WHO COMMIT CRIMES WITH GUNS! We have plenty of laws covering illegal gun use… if enforced! Research reveals for those convicted of gun use during a crime, MN judges refuse to follow MANDATORY state sentencing laws and do not incarcerate offenders 40% of the time! To be effective, consequences for gun use must follow! Finally, we must not lessen sentences for violent offenders but re-establish a swift, sure, and prepared criminal justice system.
