I feel that I am the best candidate for this position, because I will bring fresh energy and ideas to the city council. Robbinsdale is an ever-changing city. It is growing more diverse every day and not only should we celebrate that, it should be represented in our municipal government as well. I believe in taking a more proactive approach to city affairs, which is why I support implementing worker's and renter's protections, expanding public transit options, and democratic community participation in governing. To me, inaction and stagnation makes everyone worse off. Let's move forward together.
My top three priorities center around building power for the working people of Robbinsdale. The first will be to ensure that Robbinsdale remains an advocate and ally for the Blue Line Extension project. The second is to introduce a city-wide $15/hr minimum wage ordinance. Lastly, I promise to remain open and accessible to every member of my ward. If you ever need something, please reach out. I say this just as a candidate, but as your neighbor and friend as well.
There is no one solution to address crime, policing, rehabilitation, and prevention. As a city, we must take a multipronged approach that genuinely serves our neighbors and keeps everyone safe. Exploring solutions that center a public health approach to community safety is a top priority for me. We should start thinking proactively and focus on prevention. I will work with community leaders to come up with a holistic, people-first approach to these difficult questions.
