Our SMD faces development project challenges within Hampshire Estates. We need to make sure that we work closely with the developer to make sure that the proposed development does not negatively impact the usability of our neighborhood, nor that it adversely impacts parking on our neighborhood streets.

A plan that simply dumps 50+ apartments worth of cars onto the existing neighborhood streets will not work, and we need to work with the developer to make sure that the neighborhood is not plagued by a large influx of vehicles, nor is it blighted with acres and acres of surface-level parking.
Our neighborhood is blessed with a number of fantastic community associations that are open to all residents of the area.

It is my role as ANC not only to hold public meetings as necessary to discuss issues of importance to the community, but also to interface regularly with our community associations so that the voices of our neighbors are appropriately heard.

Meetings held in person and online are key to making sure that all residents are able to engage and participate in their local government and are instrumental in making sure that the needs of all the diverse groups within our community are met.
Our neighborhood needs stronger transit access, not only for our existing residents, but also for new residents who move into newly developed communities.

The majority of residents in our neighborhood are a 20-30 minute walk from the metro, and the existing connector bus service is infrequent and does not fully match the schedule of the metro (in terms of getting to the train early or late in the day.

It is crucial that residents of our neighborhood be able to not only commute to jobs in the downtown core of the city, but also to be able to readily enjoy the amenities our city has to offer, whether it's the soccer stadium or the ballpark, or its world class restaurants, or the monumental core itself.

Livable, accessible, sustainable communities for families is the most important factor in a city's long-term success. Our neighborhood should be at the forefront of the push to make DC work for individuals and families, whatever their stage of life.
