I have served on city council since 2018. Since being elected I have worked to increase community engagement and collaboration between the city and local stakeholders, so that we can work together to better serve the people of Moorhead. I have served on numerous committees, boards, and commissions, and have developed a wealth of knowledge in many areas affecting our city. Some of these include Moorhead Economic Development Authority, West Central Initiative Economic Development District Board (elected chair in 2022), Moorhead Human Rights Commission, Cass-Clay Food Commission, Moorhead Planning Commission, Red River Recovery Initiative (collaborative community opioid response group), and Moorhead Public Service Commission.
Increase affordable housing: This includes both low-income and workforce housing. We need to be creative in our use of incentives and flexible to make sure projects move ahead.

Revitalize downtown: Partnerships such as the revitalization of the Moorhead Center Mall, and the proposed library and community center will breath new life into downtown.

Improve public safety: We need to support efforts to improve recruitment and retention for the safety and wellbeing of our officers and the community
We need to ensure that salaries and benefits are competitive so we can attract and retain officers. We should continue to support innovative efforts to reduce barriers and recruit new officers, such as our cadet program and Pathways to Policing. With adequate staffing MPD could engage in more community policing activities such as foot patrols, community picnics, neighborhood cleanups, and community meetings that build positive community-police relations and uplift struggling neighborhoods.
