I believe I'm the best candidate because not only have I seen the city change firsthand in the nearly 30 years I've lived here, I also have the past four years of Council experience to build on moving forward. When a vote comes before Council, it is important to be impartial and thoughtful by focusing on the information provided instead of making a rash decision based on personal feelings. I think I have held true to that mentality and that allows me to put the residents and their tax dollars at the forefront of every decision.
1. Continue being responsible and efficient with taxpayer dollars. It is your money and not an open checkbook. 2. Ensure the city's growth remains stable and smart. A lot of people want to live in this area and I believe it's our responsibility to provide ample options for housing, employment, and fun. 3. Remain engaged and transparent with residents via social media. I think it is important for me to inform residents of the actions the Council takes and solicit feedback as a result.
As a city we are fortunate that public safety is a high priority for the Wright County Sheriff's Office. With the population growing, we recently allocated additional hours to the WCSO starting in 2023 to help keep our residents safe and deter possible crime. It is my opinion that being open and transparent with residents and neighbors while maintaining our strong relationship with the WCSO is the best way to promote public safety in St. Michael.
