◇I have ability to work well with a team and support group decisions, along with understanding that the board sets a climate for the entire district. ◇I will serve the needs of ALL students regardless of their abilities and backgrounds. ◇I have a desire to work toward a stronger relationship between the district and the community it serves. ◇I am professional, and have a friendly demeanor and respectful behavior at all times. ◇I respect diverse points of view. ◇I have integrity.

I understand the fundamental importance of what it means to have well funded schools and the positive impact it leaves on students, teachers, and communities. I am able to share my own experiences as a business owner, working mom, and community member.
1. To make sure our district has the funds they need to operate effectively. We need to give our teachers the tools they need to give our students a better education. 2. To be inclusive to ALL students in our district. Because not every child has an advocate. We must be the voice for the voiceless. 3. To encourage our community to be involved in our schools. Because they need to understand the pivotal role they play in the success of our schools and students. This is essential for our future!
It's important for our community to better understand the barriers and obstacles our teachers & staff have endured in the last 2+ years. There are stories about teachers that delivered meals, located students, administered mental health, delivered laptops to children, & taught through screen doors. It is our obligation as a community, parents, and school board members that we lift up the voices of our teachers. They can provide us with context and concrete evidence of their struggles.

Woody Allen famously said, "80% of success is showing up." I have the time to show up, I will always be fully prepared. I am running for the right reasons. To enhance student opportunity while always listening to other stakeholder interests. I have six years experience on another school board ,experience on two library boards, while and president of two Rotary Clubs. I will advocate complete transparency and integrity on all decision. My philosophy as a board member: "Macro; board decisions should be data driven. Micro; student decisions should be made by the classroom teacher, working with the student and family." I have the expertise to redesign the employee compensation plan which will be essential to attract/retain employees.
1. Reading skills. All the research I have reviewed indicates reading is the key to not only academic success, but future job success. 2. Attendance. Students cannot learn if they are not in school. And this means teachers should have enough time to focus on each student. Every family deserves their child to be a class where the teacher is not overwhelmed by too many students. 3. More social/fun time in kindergarten and 30 minutes (weather appropriate) of recess in elementary grades.
Parents deserve their child to be safe from the moment they step on the bus until they return home. Teachers and support staff also deserve safety. The District is planning a safety review this year. I have experience in planning and reviewing public safety. In the long-term we need more mental health specialists to resolve issues at an early stage; and reasonable class sizes that allow staff to meet the needs of each student. Bullying and harassment must be addressed as soon as possible.
