I am the best candidate because I am an engaged parent with four children who have been in or are in the New Ulm school system. I am a small business owner in the tax accounting industry and I am very familiar with financial documents and concepts. As a small business owner, I know what skills are needed for the jobs available today and our schools should be preparing students with those skills. I believe a common-sense voice and approach are needed to prioritize the basic skills our children need. Politics and other distracting agendas need to be removed from our classrooms. I am proud to be an Eagle Parent and believe our children need to be taught how to work hard, have fun, succeed and be proud of all their accomplishments.
My top three priorities are: basic academics, accountability and removing politics and personal agendas.

Our students need to be proficient in basic academics in order to be successful adults in our society. All students, teachers, parents, staff and administrators need to be held accountable for their actions. Politics and personal agendas have no place in our school system. Students do not need to know about teachers', staff's or administrators' personal lives or political views.
Promoting safety in our schools has to start with promoting respect for each other.

We cannot expect the school district to monitor students, teachers, staff and administrators at all times. I feel it is extremely important to teach all members of our school system how to respect others, regardless of age, race, lifestyle, etc. Respect plays a significant role in promoting safety. I would work directly with teachers and staff to determine which situation(s) heightens the sense of insecurity.

I am the best candidate because of my many life experiences, including 12 years on the school board. Serving on the board is more than showing up to one monthly meeting, we have numerous committee meetings every month. Each meeting is different, a board member must be prepared. Being fully engaged with the community and attending events outside of school gives a board member experiences to make sound judgements and recommendations at the meetings. I feel we need to educate all students to the best of their ability, and that takes a variety of programming. I value community engagement and want all stakeholders to know what is happening at the school by attending school board meetings, committee meetings, activities, and sporting events.
If I am re-elected, my top priorities will continue to be student and community engagement, building community trust and keeping the communication lines open. These three items are connected and continuing to make them better makes for a better school. When stakeholders are not connected there is doubt. When there is doubt there is blaming and misinformation.
I will continue to promote safety in our schools by making sure we are up to date on the latest trends for school safety. Remodeling and updates in the past decade have made our schools some of the safest places to be. School safety is really in the hands of the employees of the school from the superintendent to the volunteers in our classrooms and all those attending the school, safety is a group effort.

I am the best candidate for the position because I am an experienced and dedicated board member, community leader, educator, and I believe in the necessity of public education, strongly support teachers as the professionals they are, and am motivated by the best interests of all students.
If re-elected, my top three priorities would be continuing to create a welcoming environment for all students and staff, continuing and increasing our history of strong academic performance, and increasing communication and engagement with the community and stakeholders.
There are two levels of safety that our district currently promotes: safety of our buildings and the student body as a whole, and safety of individuals. Our district buildings are currently equipped with up-to-date safety systems and protocols and we continue to monitor those and update them as needed. Individual safety is achieved by promoting an environment of welcoming and respect where all students and staff feel safe and included.

I am a life-long learner, a woman with lots of energy, and lover of anything about education! I have great expectations of students, and I know how to get the best out of each one. We homeschooled our kids and they have attended all the school systems in the area, except the Baptist school. I am a bridge builder and am able to civilly converse with people of opposing views. I am fair-minded. I will stand firmly on what I believe is honorable, and I base what is honorable on a firm relationship with Jesus Christ. I will personally get involved if I see anyone mistreated. I will foster inclusivity of all opinions; the facts of opposing views must be heard, so that the students can make knowledge-based decisions for themselves.
1. Prevent bullying by promoting the Golden Rule. 2. Bring nobility back into the school system by helping kids help others. 3. Endorse presentation of alternative theories for the origin of the universe. Why? 1. Each person is important, and all viewpoints must be respected. 2.Kids who put others before themselves are noble. 3. Science proves a Creator by observations of the vastness of space and complexity of the cell. We have no excuse to not consider an Intelligent Designer.
If students, staff, and teachers are treating each other the way they want to be treated, there will be safety in the schools. If students are encouraged to help each other, there will be safety in the schools. Sometimes we need to get to the very bottom of the problem, rather than deal with the manifestations of the problem, to really solve the problem.

I am the best candidate because I am an experience school board member. I attend trainings, conferences, board meetings, committee meetings and various school and community events to learn and to stay up to date on issues, policies, procedures and new ideas. I am committed to preserving and improving the quality of our school system. I am committed to supporting all current and future students and all district staff. I believe every student matters, deserves to be supported, to be safe in school and to receive the best education we can provide.
If I am re-elected my priorities will be to continue the work of supporting all students socially, emotionally, physically and academically. To continue supporting our staff. Providing training opportunities, professional development, technology and supports necessary to help our staff grow and strengthen their skills and knowledge. To continue working together as a board, with the superintendent and administration. What’s best for the district, staff and students is the entire boards’ priority.
Safety within our schools has two different sides. One is the physical safety of our students and staff. Our buildings have been updated and remodeled in the past few years to be safe and include many specific safety features. Another aspect of safety is helping to create a school culture where students feel connected to their peers, cared for by adults in the school, and valued as members of the school community.

All over America there is a battle going on. It is a battle for our children’s minds. It is a battle between normal parents who simply want their children to receive a good basic education, and “woke” activists who want to replace traditional American values and history with a warped version that seeks to transform America into a different kind of country.

The best candidates for School Board are those who recognize that this battle is going on, who are familiar with tactics that activists are using to deceive and manipulate public opinion, and who are capable of effectively standing in the way of their plans.

Based on the criteria I’ve have described above, I believe that I am the best candidate on the ballot for ISD 88 School Board
1. Removing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) from the district’s strategic plan. DEI is used by social activists to enforce political correctness. It gives preferred status to certain groups while excluding / silencing anyone who does not agree with their social agenda.

2. Recognize parents’ right to decide what their child will be taught regarding sexual orientation and gender identity.

3. Implement a new strategic vision that emphasizes excellence in education.
There are two issues involving the word “safe.” Students need to be kept safe from those who would harm them physically. I support measures to prevent bullying and mass shootings. The other issue is “safe spaces” for minority groups. These “safe spaces” are a form of segregation. They divide students into groups and give to the “victim” group a special status. “Safe spaces” serve to perpetuate division rather than to unite. Therefore I do not support them.
