Bridgewater Township Mayor

Bridgewater Township is governed by a mayor and a five-member township council. All members of the governing body are chosen at-large on a partisan basis as part of the November general election. The mayoral seat comes up for vote every four years and council members are elected to serve four-terms of office on a staggered basis. At a reorganization meeting held in January after each election, the committee selects a council president from among its members. The Mayor is elected to a four-year term of office.
