My top 3 priorities for my next term, in addition to providing our daily work on payroll, accounts payable, retirement and accounting, are: 1) to continue to be an independent watchdog and voice for the residents of the County, especially with respect to saving money and spending our tax dollars wisely; 2) continue to build our audit department to strengthen internal controls in the County and to continue to support the professional development of the staff so they can do their jobs efficiently and effectively; and 3) assist in the implementation and support of good government policies and procedures to protect our County resources, including examination of procurement and payment practices, information technology, and the responsible transition of the county jail to public control.
