Ocala Mayor

The Mayor of the City of Ocala serves a term of two (2) years. The mayor attends regular and special meetings of the city council. The mayor has charge and control of the police department and nominates the chief of police and is also recognized as head of the city government for all ceremonial purposes and for the purpose of military law. The Mayor has the right to veto any ordinance adopted by the City Council within ten (10) days after the date of such adoption. Elections are in odd-numbered years.(Vote for One)
