I have lived in Vadnais Heights for 14 years along with my husband, two middle school-age kids, and our rescue dog. I've spent the last 2 years on our Parks, Recreation, & Trails Commission and am currently the Vice Chair. In this role, I've had the opportunity to listen to residents talk about what they care about and where they want to see our city headed. I am passionate about conservation and finding smart ways to heal our planet. In my daily life, I am an industrial sales consultant and have been with my company for nearly 19 years. I have become a trusted partner for my clients, known to be solution driven to reduce costs and streamline processes. I'll use the same skills while listening to and working with my fellow council members.
Climate - By joining the GreenStep Cities, we will have access to funding and expertise. I'll focus on sustainability, water conservation, and reduced energy use. Fiscal Responsibility - Transparent and strategic fiscal goals focusing on long term planning for parks, roads, and capital projects. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion - organize initiatives to improve our cultural competency and racial equity. I'll partner with local schools to engage our youth in the future of our community.
Continue our partnership with Ramsey County Sheriff's Office, listen to recommendations from our Public Safety Commission and Fire Chief, and encourage participation in the National Neighborhood Watch And National Night Out. I will work with Ramsey County to improve safe connections to parks, trails, and the city center to better serve pedestrians and bikers.

I'm a 30 year Vadnais Heights resident, married for 31 years to Mary, 37 years in the banking business, attained an undergraduate degree in Business Administration at St John's University (Collegeville, MN ), and MBA with a Concentration in Financial Services at St Thomas University (St Paul, Mn ). As a banker, I have seen several economic cycles over the years, including the Great Recession from 2007-2011. It has been fulfilling to have been able to partner with many businesses and individuals guiding them through both successes and challenges. Involved in many community volunteer activities over the years, including the Vadnais Heights Planning Commission, VH Lions Club, VH Area Foundation. I feel I can assist VH be successful as well.
1) Always at top of mind are increased property values, maximizing services, while at the same time minimizing property taxes. Ensure proper maintenance of Vadnais Heights’ assets (roads, parks, equipment, and real estate). 2) Strong proponent for public safety and security-Ramsey County Sheriff Dept., VH Fire & Paramedic Department. 3) Continue to protect the beauty and natural feeling of the Vadnais Heights community via increased linkage to the park and trail system.
Create new ways to partner with the local Ramsey County Sheriff Department and other local police departments to curb violence and crime. Further focus on recognition for excellent service and valor. Partner with the VH Fire Dept and Health and Public Safety Commission to recognize existing priority community risks and take action to minimize issues. This gives a sense of safety/security, thereby increasing property values. Further link parks and trails, thereby creating further safety.

During my 4-year term on City Council, I have made many positive impacts for residents. I have studied every proposal and voted as if it was my money and security being impacted. It’s my belief that a well-run city ensures that its infrastructure - streets, parks and utilities are properly funded. I put a high priority on funding the emergency services, and police to keep crime low- providing an atmosphere conducive for business and citizens. These areas are the bedrock for the creation of our government. I know my place while supporting residents’ concerns and balancing those concerns with the overall health of our city. I advocate for property rights and the lowest possible taxation, which lets the residents elevate their quality of life.
As a current board member of Vadnais Lakes Area Water Management, conservation and the health of our planet is my passion. I will continue my work on the watershed board to keep our water clean, plentiful, and moving smoothly.

Keeping taxation in check, while ensuring our needs as a city are met.

Continue to address resident concerns to find solutions that bring us together.
While the crime rate is relatively low in Vadnais Heights, we do have a few areas of concern. This could be resolved by hiring an additional deputy to patrol our city. There are options to fund this without adding additional tax to the residents or local businesses. The sheriff’s office has been a great partner with the City providing quick response times for our needs, I would make sure we are not spreading these resources too thin protecting our citizens.
