I have had the honor and privilege to serve as a Councilmember since 2018. I have been open and available to listen to residents’ concerns and questions. I have attended numerous city and community sponsored events. I have served on the Economic Development Commission. I am a former Board member of the Mounds View Schools Education Foundation and current Board member of Community Partners with Youth (CPY). In my work and volunteer life, I have a proven track record of building coalitions, bringing groups and individuals together to find solutions. Throughout my life, I have worked to strengthen the middle class. For the past 9 years, I have fought for the rights of union members while at the Minneapolis Regional Labor federation, AFL-CIO

I previously served on the City Council for 12 years. My background is in finance and portfolio management of multi-million dollar corporate assets. I also owned and ran a small business in New Brighton. My record is one of promoting city government that focuses on efficiently providing core infrastructure and essential services while avoiding unwise redevelopment projects and divisive social engineering. I successfully championed the implementation of sorely needed eminent domain reform and the cutting back of unnecessarily burdensome laws and regulations that previously had been negatively impacting property values and the simple enjoyment of living here. I will represent the interests of the people over the dictates of the Met Council.
Revisit the Comprehensive Plan-An excessive amount of multi-unit housing has already been built with more on the way without proper consideration of the impact on property values, public safety, and quality of life.

Public Safety-Remove administrative bottlenecks and prioritize resources for the effective delivery of public safety

Tax/Spending-The auto-piloting of 8-10% tax levy increases is irresponsible in the current environment of high inflation. Keep the essentials, cut the waste.

Work with the Public Safety department and Public Safety commission to promote community involvement in neighborhood watch groups. Facilitate police ride-alongs and public events to improve interaction between citizens and the police on the street. Establish a dedicated time slot in each council meeting for direct communications between citizens, police, firefighters, and the Council to answer questions or air concerns. Promote the use of security systems and cameras by businesses and residents.
