A resident of Ward 1 since elementary school, I have been involved in community engagement all my life. I have centered my work around improving the lives of individuals in my community. I want to build trust within our community and connect individuals with their local governments. I want to make individuals and families a priority in Moorhead. My track record of serving the residents through employment and community engagement is proven. I want to inspire other young families to grow and work in Moorhead. I want to work strategically to continue to move Moorhead forward. Ward 1 is a beautiful area to live in. I will be an advocate for all residents. I would like to facilitate dialogue between stakeholders in the city and individuals.
One of my top priorities is maintaining affordable housing. Several Ward 1 residents are concerned with continued assessments on their properties over the course of decades. I want to make sure the burden does not fall on Ward 1. I want to ensure the safety of neighborhoods by working in collaboration with individuals. I intend to make sure people are prioritized so their needs are met. I want to give individuals a voice and connect them with their local government resources.
I believe building trusting relationships within communities and with law enforcement is crucial. I want to have transparency and trust build in relationships. I would like to support the recruitment and retention of law enforcement from diverse backgrounds that are able to connect with communities. I support approaching public safety through a public health perspective. I want to support mental health initiatives to improve public safety. Our community should be proactive about public safety.
I am passionate about serving in government, as shown by my many years of service in local, county, and state employment. The desire to serve in an elected role to represent the community of Moorhead has long been a desire of mine, and I feel this is the right time to contribute in this capacity. My background will help facilitate and support strong law enforcement/public safety needs, public necessities such as roads, infrastructure, and community needs, as well as support and encourage relationships in order to continue on a path of growth for Moorhead.
Strongly support law enforcement & public safety efforts, promote public necessities such as roads, infrastructure, and community needs, and build positive relationships in order to keep Moorhead on a path of growth. By maintaining and improving public safety and public necessities, Moorhead will be able to continue on a path of growth and be a place where more people will want to live, work, attend school and enjoy our recreational opportunities.
I have spent my career in Public Safety with over 20 years of experience in Law Enforcement and over 3 years as the Director of Public Safety in Higher Education. As a result, I have already built many relationships in the community and within our Public Safety Departments and can foster relationships between our government and the community to work on the needs to promote an increased public safety atmosphere.
