As a lifelong Houston resident, I want future generations to have pride in their hometown. Currently, my wife and I reside in Houston, where our 2 children attend Houston Public Schools. I have served on the Houston Public Library board since 2013, where I am currently the board secretary. As an active listener, I want to hear the community’s ideas and dreams for our city. I am eager to give people a reason to lay down roots in our forest city. I’m the best choice for Houston City Council because I have no other motives than to make Houston a home for others.
I’m eager to embrace hiking/biking options instead of the current OHV. Our community is in an amazing position to become a prime destination for bike enthusiasts and folks that want to appreciate the beauty of our bluffs and river. Our sidewalks and roads need attention. Another priority of mine will be to invite the Minnesota Design Team to come to our town and help the council lay groundwork for where Houston wants to end up and what amenities we can add for current and future residents.
People speed through Houston. On Grant Street, on Maple Street, on any Street. I’ll work to examine troubled spots in the city to make it a less stressful place for our residents and businesses. In addition to making sure our streets are safe for all, I also want to look at sidewalks on the north side of Houston. Currently there is no safe walking space between Cedar and Plum on north Grant Street. As this area continues to see more folks, it’s imperative they are safe in our community.
