I am the best candidate for city council because I am active within the city operations and consider it a passion of mine to promote and grow our community. By attending meetings when I moved to town in 2008, I built many relationships with multiple residents and employees of the city. Being active and building strong relationships with others I was later appointed to Lakefield Public Utilities Commission. I currently serve Lakefield as chairman of LPU. I am mindful and plan ahead with safety, budgets, and work to bring people together to establish a team mindset.
1) Work to promote transparency and good communication with residents, elected officials, appointed officials, and city employees. 2)Infrastructure such as city streets, underground utilities and the electrical system. Much of this has been overlooked and not budgeted for in the past. 3) Future city planning-Complete an overall assessment and develop a 10-year plan to accomplish things that need addressed. The cohesion of the various groups and committees would help establish this plan.
I would work to promote public safety with the community by addressing the lack of signage at some intersections, park areas, share educational information which promotes awareness and safety tips in newsletters. Encourage others to get active in the community by joining local clubs or volunteering.

I am the best candidate for the position because of my experience. I am on the executive team at my family's thriving family business, have experience working with local government, & am a huge advocator of town events. My experience includes, but is not limited to, being the current speaker of the Economic Development Asso. We help create programs to bring more residents to the area; for example, this past year, I helped create a tax abatement program for building new housing and business loans to small businesses that may be struggling with our HWY 86 project. I am also the president of the Lakefield Business Association. We strive to find new ways to bring our resources together to create better advertising, programs, & events.
My top priorities are: creating better communication and level-headedness between the city, the council, the mayor, and the citizens. Continue to communicate to citizens about different programs they can use and utilize to help them and/or assist their household, and create a continued inviting town for businesses and new homebuyers/builders.
I will work with our excellent police officers. Chief Roger Pohlman is an asset to our community, and his events, ideas, and goals are always thinking ahead and thinking forward. I will do my best to help make them a reality.
