Moose Lake City Mayor

The role of city mayor can vary from city to city. However, the mayor is usually the head of the city and may represent the city in front of other government bodies. A mayor also usually has a role in proposing a city budget that is approved by the city council. The budget influences the services the city provides to its residents. Mayors sometimes are voting members of city council, and in some cities the mayor is in charge of city council meetings.

I have been a lifelong resident of Moose Lake. After graduating high school, I attended the Milwaukee Technical Institute and UMD. I served in the USAF for years after which I was employed by the Federal Aviation Administration. I served on the Moose Lake School Board during this time. I have been the Mayor for the past 18 years during which I have worked with a number of City Administrators and many different City Council Members. There have been many challenges that the City has had to face in the past 18 years, among them our 500 Year Flood to the recent pandemic. These and other challenges had to be met with good management decisions and action. I fell that my management experience helped meet these challenges with positive outcomes.
My top priority would be supporting and representing the youth, seniors, and all other citizens of our Community so that their voices are represented. My second priority would be to keep the City budget balanced between expenditures and debt to keep the taxes as low as possible. My third priority would be to address our Community's aging infrastructure as many are in need of repair and replacing.
I have advocated and supported 24/7 police protection in our City for the past 18 years and will continue to do so. Our police chief has been very active in the Community promoting ATV and snowmobile safety as well as holding active shooter training scenarios at our local schools. We have actively submitted and received grants to complete a "Safe Routes To School" and I would continue to support this program for the safety of our children.
