These last four years have made it clear to me that our city has great strengths & some weaknesses. Our location on the National Scenic Riverway makes it a gem, where I have returned to. To understand how the city functions,it is imperative to be present at city meetings, and county/state seminars do give beneficial information. My track record of attendance, &follow through, demonstrates my commitment to the residents. People in this city need to know that the individuals they elect represent them & their concerns. Community outreach, formal or impromptu, strengthens the bond that we need to succeed. My involvement at these events has fortified my duty to Lake St. Croix Beach. My willingness to learn and listen is to the benefit to all.
**Recently, Council voted to maintain the bluffland/levee by hiring companies using best practice methods. Past work has not always been best for the natural habitat, we need to do better. **Reciprocal sharing of power, inviting residents to be involved. Recognizing knowledge, talent, & momentum of all residents, not just a few. **The Ordinance Book has given stability to the path for the city. Ignoring violations is not good governance. The rules should be followed by all, no exceptions.

Intentional interaction is the strongest way to ensure safety. Enhancing our community by creating systems that will allow neighbors to work to help each other, together with the city, when necessary. With intentional interaction, residents will feel they can share concerns and the city will support the needs further. The tighter the weave the stronger the fabric. The looser the weave the cracks show and negative influences affect the fabric of our city. Division is the bane of our existence.

As a young member of our community who is raising a family, I hold perspectives and have ideas that will help serve our community both now and in the future. I am a kindergarten teacher and union steward in St. Paul Public Schools, so I know how to create community and advocate for myself and others. I communicate well and am eager to help our community as a member of the council.

As someone who enjoys the outdoors through fishing, running, biking, and cross country skiing, conservation is very important to me. I will work hard to ensure Lake St. Croix Beach remains a great place for wildlife and enjoying nature.

My experiences and background will help me bring new ideas and collaboration that will help our community to thrive.
My first priority is engaging the youth in our community. I have already developed a framework for events designed to help youth learn how to garden, woodwork, and fish among other things.

My second priority is to maintain and increase opportunities for recreation in our area. Through collaboration with other communities, we can make sure that our residents can get outdoors and stay active.

My third priority is beach safety. As a dad, I want our beach to be safe for residents and visitors.
One of our biggest challenges is beach safety. I will leave no stone unturned in promoting and supporting legislation that will keep our kids safe and our community safe.

In addition, I will work with other community members to listen to and solve safety issues in our community.

I feel visibility is a large part of safety. As I run through the community on a regular basis, I have developed ideas of what possibilities could improve public safety. I talk to residents about safety often.
