First, Working to make sure the economy we are generating works for everyone from the individual all the way to the corporation. Economic equality and value from our work is a core to so many things from mental health, supporting yourself, your family and so much more. Dignity is a prime source of contentment through all people no matter where we are. Second, Uphold and expand our Minnesota Medical Assistance programs and healthcare in general. Access to good affordable medical care is paramount to the success of society. Finally, I would work to be a healing force and a voice of reason in a world of politics where we can’t seem to get anything done. Government can’t work if we don’t treat each other with respect.
Minnesota is currently one of the best states for turn out and access at the ballot box. The adaptations around the past election and expanding mail in and early voting has done wonders to increase access. The best way I know to continue this trend is to make Election Day a full state holiday by law. Giving all citizens the day to celebrate our democracy and vote without barriers.
Generational wealth is one of the major components that causes many racial and ethic disparities. One of the best ways to help all people to build generational wealth is access to affordable rates and access to loans for home buyers of these communities. Access to healthcare and closing the wage gap in these situations are also positions and legislation I would support.
Investing in things that make all areas of Minnesota continue to grow, expand, and be self-sustaining are ways we generate a vibrant economy. The infrastructure of Minnesota is in need of upgrades and repair. WIthout these needed upgrades and fixes our economic outlook suffers for generations to come. Rising inflation as we have seen throughout history often is the result of greed and excess. Large corporations all across the economy need to pay their fair share so citizens don’t suffer.
The rampant violence being done to our communities through gun violence is terrible. The cost of change should not be the lives of grade school students. I will work to find what compromise is available to all, but I will vote at all times with a safety first mindset to new gun legislation. This is a human problem and as humans we must come together for the safety of all of our communities to do what is right.
