I believe that I am the best candidate for city council because I have always voted for the best interests of moving the city of Carver forward. I don’t have “my” best interests when I vote for or against a issue but the best interests for Carver. I have an extensive background in construction and I can vision where the city can and will be in the future. I keep an open mind when topics up and I am conscious of both sides of the issue before rendering my vote. Being a member of the council for 3 terms, I bring experience, consistency and logic to each meeting. I don’t voice my opinions from an emotional point of view, I use ration in making decisions for what is best for the city.
Development is always my first priority. Infrastructure must be in place for any development to occur. Making sure streets, sewer and water is up to date and operating correctly. City services is another critical item. Making sure the public services and fire dept. have the correct training and equipment so they can operate at peak performance under any circumstance. Making sure the office personal has all the tools they need. Having the correct personal in place is vital for operations.
Community outreach with our sheriffs department and being visible in each neighborhood. Over the past 12 years the city has added more patrolling each year. Partnering with the sheriffs dept using the “town cop” model has paid dividends in outreach and security.

I know through all of my civic and professional experiences, that progress for the City of Carver is hard work, deliberation, and compromise that considers everyone’s values, not just my own. Long term visions sometimes require bold decisions, and disruption to the status qou. A council vote can be difficult; however, difficult initiatives have made some of the most positive progress for the City over my 23 years of being a resident. I intend to always move the City forward. My experience has given me the benefit of a long-term-comprehensive perspective necessary to make rational and disciplined decisions on community issues as they arise, and I am dedicated to the betterment of our community and progress for the City of Carver.
Housing- Develop opportunities for high quality housing that is diverse in ownership, price, and style by encouraging or requiring residential developers to create a range of income and housing abilities within their development proposals. Historic Downtown- Certified Levy to protect downtown residents and business, reducing exorbitant flood insurance rates. Infrastructure and Commercial Development- Strengthen and expand water and sewer capacity to ensure quality uninterrupted supply.
I have worked closely with Federal, State, and Local Public Safety entities throughout my career. I have found that the Officers and First Responders that work in the community are some of the best community developers; invite their input on community development plans and activities early and often. The City will look at public safety as an integrated piece of neighborhood development plans.
