I am a lifetime member of the community of Park Rapids. I worked for the City of Park Rapids for 31 years on the Street Department and Public Utilities from 1988 - 2018. I was a member of the Park Rapids Fire Department from 1990 to 2014. I have a good understanding of the infrastructure/layout of the city, understand the process of city government. I have maintained a good working relationship with the city employees both at City Hall and Public Safety/Public Utilities. I have the ability to work through difficult situations and reach a solution that is in the best interest of the majority. I am honest, hardworking, and desire to give back to my community.
1. I am an advocate for safety of the people in the community of Park Rapids. We need to have and maintain quality employees across the board in our police and fire departments. 2. The infrastructure under the streets is a priority for replacing and upgrading as there are some areas that have not been improved for up to 75 years. Broken waterlines and sewer back up are expensive and a danger to our health. 3. There is a need to use our resources to promote new business within the city.
I believe training and being prepared are important. Being proactive is far more affective in emergency situations. Having safety minded employees that are well trained is the best way to protect our community and the safety of the employees. To accomplish this we need up to date equipment and keep pace with what is happening in greater Minnesota.
