If elected, what will your top three priorities be and why? (500 characters)

How will you work with your community to promote public safety in our neighborhoods? (500 characters)

As a lifelong resident and two term member on the Wyoming City Council, I am the best candidate for this position because of my knowledge of my community and the work I’ve done for nearly eight years. I have regularly attended budget work and street sessions, Joint Park Planning Board and Park Advisory Meetings. I’ve participated in community events such as Stomp Out Suicide, Stagecoach Day, Wyoming’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, and National Night Out. I am motivated to continue working for my community on priorities like improving our infrastructure, supporting our local businesses, supporting our public safety department, efforts to increase our tax base, and working to establish a responsible budget centered on our community’s needs.
My top three priorities will continue to be improving our infrastructure, the commitment to a responsible city budget, and ensuring that our public safety department has the resources it needs to ensure our community’s safety and well-being. These priorities require thoughtful planning and budgeting, and a responsible cost benefit analysis. I’m proud of the work we’ve done on these issues over the last 8 years, and want to continue the work.
I will continue to promote public safety in our neighborhoods by continuing to support adequate staffing levels, infrastructure, and resources for our police and fire departments. An important aspect to working with the community to promote public safety is supporting outreach with events like Night to Unite. Finally, I will continue to advocate for fair contracts with our public safety bargaining unit because we know that retaining qualified employees familiar with our community is important.
