Like you, I am tired of extreme positions that are blocking our ability to get things done at the Capitol to improve the lives of Minnesotans. My number one priority is to end politics that seek to divide us and instead focus on engaging in dialogue with everyone regardless of political party and work together to create a strong community where Minnesotans can thrive.

A thriving Minnesota means ensuring every Minnesotan has access to affordable health care in their community when they need it – including reproductive health care. It also means creating a robust educational system, including a fully funded public school system. As well as ensuring those who work hard are able to pay their bills and put food on the table for their family.
We need to restore faith in our political process and elected leaders. Over the last several years unethical and dishonest leaders and corporations have chipped away at our trust in one another and in a system with many checks and balances. Minnesotans vote is their voice and we must ensure that folks are able to safely and securely exercise that right. We must elect leaders who are courageous, thoughtful and willing to put in the time to create solutions instead of fighting with one another.
As a clinical social worker and someone who has spent the last 18 years serving my community, I have seen racial and ethnic disparities in almost every aspect of our system. One area we see disparities the most is in our criminal justice system. We need to decriminalize poverty and work to support people's basic needs such as access to health care. We also need to work to reduce income inequality so that everyone in this country has a fair and equitable opportunity to succeed.
Businesses that survived the pandemic now have shortened hours and struggle finding workers. We must create an economic plan that will accelerate our recovery and strengthen our state's prosperity. The majority of those who left the workforce during the pandemic are women. We must create affordable childcare and high-quality early education programs that support working families and allow for those who left the workforce to reenter knowing their children are safe and well cared for.
Minnesotans demand common sense gun laws. As someone who knew their way around a tree stand during deer hunting season thanks to relatives, I am a supporter of the 2nd amendment right. I also believe there are sensible things we can do to ensure when we send our children to school, they get off the school bus at the end of the day. We must take action to ensure Minnesotans are safe when we go to a concert, grocery store, or movie theater. I support universal background checks and Red Flag laws.
