I am a great candidate for Nevis School Board because I have children in the school district, I am an educator, coach, and I am involved in school activities. I am running for the Nevis School Board because I care about kids and the Nevis School. I have knowledge of classroom procedures, curriculum, special education and safety in the classroom from my previous teaching experiences in Menahga, Nevis and as a substitute teacher. I am also a business owner which gives me experience as a manager of employees and finances. As a Nevis School Board Member, I will put the needs of Nevis students first.
My top 3 priorities would be safety, communication and accountability, and providing opportunities, skills, and curriculum for all Nevis students to become productive, successful adults. Safety in schools is essential for a successful learning environment. Good communication and accountability is necessary on all levels to create a trusting, positive school atmosphere. Teaching life skills and providing vocational opportunities will help all students become productive members of society.

In my opinion, the best way to promote safety is to be informed about what is going on in the school. Listening to the concerns of staff, teachers, and families will allow me know what is happening in the classrooms, school, and with transportation. Also, being involved in the school as a coach, substitute teacher, and in activities helps me to see first hand any safety issues in the school. I will bring these concerns to administration and board to discuss solutions.
