Información Biográfica

What unique experience/qualifications would you bring to this office if elected?

If elected, what improvements to the Highway Dept. would you hope to accomplish?

What challenges to the roadway infrastructure do you anticipate in the next few years, and how do you plan to address these?

I bring over 15 years of road maintenance and construction experience in two states Tennessee and Texas. I am in the process of becoming a certified road way inspector by TDOT. My unique experience is I have federal contacts for grants from the federal government. I will also bring great communication skills to the highway department. I also have experience with local government agencies such as TDEC when dealing with streams and creeks that can be effected by culvert repairs or replacement.
If elected to this office I will be doing a road assessment and placing all the roads on a schedule and follow the schedule and stay within the budget I will also bring new ideas on how to repair drainage culverts without having to dig the roads up to replace the culverts in some cases. I will also improve on the availability of the road superintendent to his constituents for concerns they may have with the highway department. I will also work to raise the pay of the highway department employees to match their unique skills and knowledge to show them their value to the Anderson County highway department.
The challenges I expect to encounter will be where a lot of the county roads, culverts and bridges have been neglected over the years. The way I plan to address this issue is through and by completing the road assessment so we can create a schedule for the residents of Anderson county so they will know when their road, culverts are schedule for repaving or a culvert for repairs/replacing. I also expect to face challenges with the budget due to the reduced budgets over the next few years. The way I plan to address this is to go after state and federal grants to help the county get more roads repaved and culverts repaired or replaced.
