One of the biggest challenges in Williamson County is our rising debt. As a county, we are almost a billion dollars in debt. Currently, an average family of four is responsible for approximately $20,000 of the county's debt. We need a strategy for balancing the budget. With rising inflation and interest rates across the US, we have to become better steward of our taxpayers’ dollars.

As your commissioner, I will use my voice to ensure that we are using our revenue responsibly. I’d like to partner with fellow commissioners to perform a detailed review of all budget items to carefully consider how we can better utilize and/or redirect funds to key areas of the county that may need greater budget dollars.
I plan to have quarterly town hall meetings to share updates on what the status of county commission projects and efforts.
Schools are one of the most important parts of any county budget. The education of our youth is imperative to the future growth and leadership of the county. The most significant challenge for Williamson County Schools is attracting and retaining great teachers. Without qualified teachers we cannot excel as a county in the classroom. I also support directing a majority of the school budget to the classroom to ensure our teachers have the appropriate tools to teach and students benefit from the taxpayer’s investment.
As county commissioners we need to develop a clear vision for sustainable infrastructure that will support our continued population growth while protecting our quality of life. Property rights with regards to planning and zoning changes, as a way to slow growth, in our area has been a major point of contention for many residents across the county. Respecting individual property rights while trying to find creative, common-sense solutions to solve this issue will be a challenge and will require a partnership with our residents.
