I'm a local business owner who adapted from very different career paths. The ability to recognize a pivot and remain financially viable through tough times has hopefully given me an insight on how to continue to be successful. Using these problem solving skills is something that I feel would benefit the county.
The answers are basically restoring trust and finance. Trust covers helping emergency services and preventing shady or underwhelming officials. Finance covers the county's economic growth and the population influx.

We should be helping our services by fostering a good environment for the best people for the job. And we should be exposing and calling out these underwhelming or even illegal operations of those who are in official positions.

Tight financial oversight is a major duty of the commision, and helping the community by running the county like a business not a government slush fund is a key to success. Asserting and understanding where expansion and development is best served is very helpful, as well as knowing to negotiate on behalf of the constituents to make our county a better place.

You should vote for me because this position is about public service and I am the candidate who understands that. I'm running for you. I want to put your voice into our local government and solve real issues for you and the community. We have other candidates focused on the outrage politics of the day, and what gets lost is your voice and the community's voice.

I live in this district. I'm married to a teacher in Knox County Schools. I have a young family. I understand the challenges facing our young people, families, and older friends and neighbors in this district and across Knox County.

In my job I manage a large team across short, medium, and long term projects. I help our various teams communicate effectively and I advocate for our employees' growth and needs. I want to bring those skills to our County Commission and I want to advocate for you.
Support for Public Education - Knox County lags behind other regional school systems in student resources and teacher pay and there is no reason that should be the case. On Knox County Commission, I would work to get KCS and the School Board the resources they need so that we can do better for our kids, fully staff our schools, and give our teachers and support staff the overdue pay increase they deserve. Our kids deserve a top public school system, our teachers and support staff deserve to live in dignity, and we can prioritize that as a community.

Housing and Development - I know that the people in my district are feeling a lot of housing and financial pressure. Our rents are going up, houses we've been saving for are moving beyond our reach, our dollar isn't stretching as far, and if you can afford a house then good luck finding one in this market. We have to find ways to grow in a sustainable way that is community minded, and we need to build housing that people can afford. My job on Knox County Commission will be to work for you and our neighbors so that we can live fulfilling lives in a community we're proud of.
