Clearwater County Commissioner District 3

County commissioners are the county s key policymakers. They oversee the administration of the county, set county budget, and participate in county long-range planning. County services that they oversee include a wide variety of social service and welfare programs, as well as certain public health programs. I would like to continue to keep our taxes as low as possible. With the current rate of inflation it is important to make certain families are not overtaxed by the county. Supporting businesses and farms in our county. We need businesses to thrive to attract people to our area. Clearwater County has many wonderful natural resources and we need to encourage people to live and work here. Support our sheriff's department to keep the county safe.

Housing prices and rent are going up across the country. I'm not sure what the county would be able to do to try and offset the housing prices. Encourage and support local businesses and making sure we have good jobs available would be the biggest tool the county could offer.
I believe that all elections should require an ID to make certain an individual is eligible to vote in the district they are voting in. Mail in ballots make it easier to vote but we need to make sure that voter integrity is still intact.
The county and the country are facing huge mental health challenges today. I believe that COVID lockdowns were detrimental to young kids especially. Social media is causing more problems than imaginable. Family and churches are vital to these challenges. I believe that the mental health services that individuals will need is going to continue to increase. The county needs to make certain they have the right people in place to deal with the services that will be required.
Sheriff's Department, Highway Department, Public Health/Nursing and Land and Forestry would be my top priority to protect.
