1. Spending, this has a direct impact on property taxes. 2. Affordable housing. Everyone deserves the opportunity to have a stable place to live. This one element of getting individuals back to productivity and respect. 3. Mental Health and Addiction. Addressing these will provide for individuals to reenter society as product citizens.
Bring USDA, HRA's, LGU's and developers together to provide clarity on what "affordability" means. Then to seek the solutions to those varying definitions. Affordability means different things to different people. Once defined it will be important for LGU's, developers, and non-profits put an action plan in place and execute.
Continue a robust education of the election process for those that believe there is a problem and to ensure our judges, staff and volunteers have the up to date information to administer our elections. I will work with our state electeds to ensure legislation protects the current voting standards and make necessary changes when they are necessary and appropriate.
The biggest challenge is the availability of Psychiatrist services in rural areas. Without a more robust access it will be difficult to adequately address this issue. One solution though is to work with our state legislature to incentivize providers to make sure reimbursement rates are appropriate, that there is a supplement to these rates for establishing services in rural areas.
Community Services has many mandates services so they would be a top priority, Public Safety and Jail would be a top priority, Land Services (Recording, Tax system, Land use) would remain. County Attorney would remain. Maintaining our roads, Highway Dept. would also remain.
