Having worked in government, corporations and nonprofits, I know no one has all the answers to the many complex issues that come up. As a member of the IGH Council, I plan to listen and work with the other council members, city staff, residents, business-people, educators and students who bring forward ideas, concerns, and an interest in helping IGH be its best. I have lived in IGH for 35 years, spoken with many people in the city and heard great ideas to make IGH better. As your Council person, I will do my homework and work hard on your behalf. I can’t promise we’ll act on all ideas brought forward, but I promise to listen respectfully and consider everyone’s opinions. For these reasons, I believe I am the best candidate for the council.
• Environment: Protect our water, trees, parks, & trails and address the impacts of a changing climate on our homes, businesses & the city’s infrastructure for health and wellbeing.

• Public Safety: The safety of our families and homes is essential. I will support our police chief in hiring the best people possible to keep our neighborhoods safe.

• Budget discipline: Work with staff to optimize operations to reduce waste throughout the city ensuring fiscal responsibility of taxpayer dollars.
I will support our police in strengthening relationships with residents and businesses through community discussions and activities that build trust, respect and cooperation. I will support our police chief’s efforts to hire the best people possible to work with everyone in the city to help keep our neighborhoods safe. City, school and business partnerships can provide more affordable after-school activities for youth and good job opportunities to help people feel connected and invested in IGH.
