For four years I have worked hard on behalf of the City to move forward initiatives that focus on clean water, safe and accessible housing, transportation, public safety, equitable engagement, and collaborative efforts. I have learned a great deal about the systems and how they work together. Serving my community means advocating for better representation by and for populations marginalized by ability, income, age, race, or other factors. I am skilled at finding workable solutions that will enhance quality of life for all residents. My background is in Social Work, which is about assisting those who need it most. Everyone, including those from difficult circumstances, deserves to live a fulfilling life. I bring understanding and empathy.
Water quality, improving accessibility, and safe and secure housing are some of my priorities. Lack of accessible housing impacts business development, community safety, and quality of life. Our community driver is our water and environment. Tourism and community growth depend on clean lakes and rivers. City stormwater and wastewater treatment impact water quality. To ensure community stability, housing access, alternative transportation, wellness, and employment must be at the forefront.
A city must have a comprehensive and inclusive approach to law enforcement and justice. Promoting public safety and community well-being reduces violent and property crime. I support community policing efforts, seeking local organizational innovation to tackle crime and safety challenges. I support strengthening relationships between law enforcement and community. We can reduce reliance on incarceration by creating opportunities for justice involved individuals to attain employment and housing.
