Why are you the best candidate for this position? (750 characters)

If elected, what will your top three priorities be and why? (500 characters)

How will you work with your community to promote public safety in our neighborhoods? (500 characters)

I have a passion for serving the residents of Northfield. I have gotten to know Northfield by treating the residents with acupuncture. I am a member of the Chamber of Commerce. I have been active in the community by donating treatments at the Pridefest in the Park, Crazy Dazes, and Riverwalk Market Fair. I have experience on the board of directors and as president of the MN state acupuncture association. I created health policy legislation and organized grassroots efforts to pass opioid diversion legislation. I am running because patients and neighbors trusted me enough to ask me to run against the incumbent they feel has not listened to them. My constituents are angry at the way the Kraewood Development was handled and the trees torn down
The most critical issues we face are transparency within the council, including residents in early decision-making and creating and keeping affordable housing. I will work with legislation local and federal to get funding for our schools and local infrastructure projects that are on the decline or outdated. The property tax in our city has increased by 70% in the last 10 years, now at 18.5%. This is also creating housing insecurity for people who are aging in place.
Things that improve public safety are things that lift people out of poverty and things that enhance mental health. I support education initiatives by renewing the Capital Projects Levy Referendum. Families in rural areas often travel long distances to access mental health services (Hodgkinson, S 2017). We must improve our community's access to mental health care by attracting more mental healthcare workers (Hodgkinson, Stacy et al. 2017)https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5192088/
