I am an independent thinker who only will vote for what is best for Fairmont as I see it, not beholden to any one group or faction. I have been participating in city government as much as any citizen can over the past nearly three years, and will be ready to hit the ground running. I will also provide the steady leadership Fairmont needs, instead of lurching from one decision to the next as has happened far too often in the past. I am endorsed by the current holder of the seat, Councilmember Bruce Peters, and will continue the work he has done.
My top three priorities will be, first, saying yes to business that wants to come to Fairmont wherever the proposals make sense; second, to exercise fiscal restraint to make sure we get the most for our money and spend only what is necessary; and third, to ensure that Fairmont follows a steady, consistent path to growth and prosperity.
Public safety in our neighborhoods depends on robust support for law enforcement, as well as citizens willing and able to provide for their own safety in those critical moments before law enforcement arrives. Our city has a capable, professional police force, and I will support it to the hilt. In addition, I will work to help neighbors get to know one another so that all are invested in public safety.
