I’m the incumbent running for Seat C as Lent Township Supervisor and am excited to continue serving our community. Graduating from the U of MN with a BA degree, I’ve lived in Lent Township for over 20 years. My husband Dave and I have raised our three kids here, run a business and volunteered many hours in the community. During my time as a supervisor, I have worked to bring quality broadband to our residents. I am Lent’s liaison at the Chisago County Commissioner meetings, reporting back to the township board, keeping us current on happenings in our county. I believe the more informed we are, the more we listen, the more effective we can be at creating positive change. Building & maintaining rapport is key to being a township leader.
I want to be sure everyone has an opportunity to have a say in our future. My stance on the Stacy/Lent merger is this – it may be right for our community, but we need to take it slow because ‘we don’t know what we don’t know.’ It is pertinent that the agreement doesn’t have errors of omission in it. I will also continue to champion the effort to bring quality broadband to more Lent Township residents – fighting for COVID relief funds to go towards this integral part of our day-to-day lives.
Broadband for rural Minnesota is severely lacking. When we started our business here 22 years ago, we had dial up internet. Simply unacceptable! It took us months working with our neighbors and Midco to get better internet to our area. We fought for it and we got it - and I am still fighting for it today. I will continue to champion the effort to bring quality broadband to Lent Township residents, including getting COVID relief funds to go towards this integral part of our day-to-day lives.
