Best is super subjective, and I do not believe I am qualified to decide who the best candidate is. I do know that I will serve the district to my utmost. I have four children, ranging in age from 18 to 3. As my kids will be in school for quite some time yet, I have a deeply personal interest in ensuring our school district continues to shine. I am an avid writer and a lifelong learner. I hope to bring some insight to the council on matters regarding student mental health and LGBTQ+ student lives. Other than that, I am open, honest, and invested in the future of our wonderful school.
1. Student mental health. More support in school could drastically help students who are struggling with their mental health. Studies show that when students have access to mental health professionals in school, they have better outcomes.

2. Avoiding book bans. Our librarians know what they are doing. We should do our best to support them.

3. Increase awareness of and ensure a safe experience for our LGBTQ+ students. Creating an environment where they feel safe and can thrive is important.
I think the number one reason why safety issues come up is a lack of mental health support for our students. I know that teachers and staff are working their hardest to make sure that every student is treated well and has a safe learning environment. Now that Southwestern Mental Health Center in Windom has closed, it will likely be more difficult for some families to access mental health care. We may need to step up and fill that space.
