I'm a parent concerned about the education experience that my and all students receive. Like many parents, I became more aware of and involved with Proctor School policies during the recent pandemic. I started attending board meetings because of the ongoing school shutdowns and mask mandates. I’ve continued attending and speaking about issues during the public comment session. I believe in a parent’s right to know and to be involved with what their children are being taught. I believe academics need to be the primary focus. We send our children to school to learn HOW to think, not WHAT to think. The school board is elected to represent parents and students.

There are many potential safety threats which should be addressed. Bullying, hazing, and shootings are just a few. All options from multiple sources should be considered when dicussing the safety of students and staff. The quick or easy answer is not always best or correct.
