As we celebrate 30 years of WCA, my desire is to lead the district to remain strong and vibrant for another 30 years. It is an honor and privilege to have my name on the ballot to lead the district. Much like the last line in the FFA motto of living to serve, I believe that in order to have strong communities and schools it is important for people to serve the greater good, to offer one's time and talents unselfishly to enrich the lives of others, and to build a better future for our children. My descions will take into account input from all stakeholders of the district, our education professionals, administration and most importantly parents. Together we can do what’s best for our children and communities.
Some of the major challenges I see facing rural districts and specifically ours include: faculty and staff recruitment and retention, student mental health and academics and aging facilities. Much like a 3 legged stool with the budget balanced on top, all 3 issues need to be focused on and addressed equally lest one leg becomes too long or short and the stool topples over.
Our teachers have done a phenomenal job and worked during their prep hours covering for each other’s classes to maintain the district’s high level of programming. Many are going above and beyond expanding their curriculum and programs, putting in countless hours of research and fundraising to do so. They deserve a safe work place. Our institutions need to be a welcoming place where anyone who enters feel physically safe. By supporting a crisis/emergency management plan.

I am an incumbent schoolboard member, alumni, parent and district taxpayer who understands school finance and want to do my part to contribute to the long-term success of our district. I plan to continue to make intentional and fiscally responsible decisions that allow our district to offer robust programming and always put our students education first.
1. To lobby for fully funded special education. This would allow us to use more general funds in the classroom and on staff. 3. Continue to offer robust programs, PSEO and Career and Technical Education. This allows all students learning opportunities whether college bound or as they enter the workforce 2. Continue to work toward a fiscally responsible solution for our aging facilities. With aging buildings we will continue to spend funds fixing buildings when they could be spent on education.
I will promote safety in our schools by supporting our Crisis/Emergency management plan and allowing our administration and staff to seek any training they need to keep our students safe. I also will support lyceums for the students related to emergencies, bullying and digital citizenship.
