I am the best candidate for this position because, I have Integrity! I stand strong in my beliefs and morals. I am willing to learn and want to make a difference. If there is an issue. I will talk to the people involved, then go and see the problem for myself. Getting all sides of an issue before voting is important. I believe in truth, communication and transparency.
Safety is my first priority. Children need to know that they will be safe in school. Keeping politics out of the school is second for me. Children need reading, writing and arithmetic. They need to learn subjects that will help them succeed in life. They also need a chance to just be a kid. “Teach kids how to think not what to think”. Next is communication. Without good communication there can be misunderstanding and that can lead to mistrust and frustration.
I would start with a survey of students, teachers, administration and staff. Do they feel safe in the school? Do they notice things that can be changed to make the school safer? They are the ones that are in the school everyday. Keep parents informed and ask their ideas too. Talk to local law enforcement about what they think would be helpful safety measures. Maybe we need to hire a form of security. Teach kids to be aware of their surroundings and report unusual activities. Work together!
In my 20 years as a student (K-12, 4 years at Creighton, and 3 more years at St. Thomas School of Law), I was given a sense of wonder and a love of learning. With 4 (soon to be 5) children at ACGC, my greatest desire in life is to instill in my children with a desire to learn and to provide them with the foundation upon which they need to grow into adults that can be whatever they want to be. The school’s primary job has to be providing a foundation upon which a life of learning can take place. I would love to serve our community and our teachers by ensuring that both the teachers have the tools and environment that they need to provide an education, and by ensuring that our community has the best structural foundation for our school.
My number one goal is to improve test score and competency in Reading, Math, Science. Having only 28% of our secondary school “meeting standards” in math is 100% unacceptable.

My second goal is to ensure that our parents are educated on all educational shortfalls in their student’s learning, and to provide them with a plan (and any supplemental resources needed) to get their children up to the “meeting standards” goal.

My third goal is to step down once the first two goals are accomplished.
It is an unfortunate world that we live in where we have to worry about safety inside schools. Growing up, it was the trip to and from school that was the concern. As it is, resources need to be devoted and proper plans need to be in place. I will follow local and regional guidance on appropriate measures. Further, we need to have a program in place to identify, monitor, and have proper intervention on high risk students.

As a 12 year veteran of the ACGC School Board, I have had the privilege of not only residing on the board, but also holding the positions of Treasurer, Vice Chair, & (currently) Chair. In 2021, I was named to the MSBA All-State School Board for my continued dedication to learning, commitment as a leader, and collaborative work with fellow board members. I am a compassionate listener & I have the ability to ask hard questions while valuing others' opinions and viewpoints that may be different from my own. Our District team has steered ACGC through a number of accomplishments of which I have been a part of, including the passing of the building bond, the remodeling of 2 school buildings, & just recently, the hiring of a new superintendent.
The new superintendent brings many valuable skills and abilities, but he is still new to ACGC. It is a priority of mine to continue to make his transition smooth and beneficial to our District.

After the past few years of concentrating on building projects, then navigating COVID, and most recently hiring a superintendent, our District is in a great position to focus on education again.

My final priority is to continue using our Strategic Plan to guide education at ACGC.
The key to safety is good communication and systems. Systems should be routinely examined to make sure proper plans are mapped out and practiced in preparation of a possible emergency. A school's best safety tool is the relationships within the building and the community. In order to learn, students need to feel safe. They need to know that there are adults in their day-to-day interactions that they can trust. I will continue to support new ways to deepen these relationships at ACGC.
Education of our children helps ensure the continued flourishing of the republic. This has been a central focus during my 26 years in the Navy training new sailors, and during 15 years in the defense industry. Since moving into the ACGC school district I have been attending many of the school board meetings and developed an understanding of many of the board issues. My organizational experience in the fleet and industry dealing with contracts, systems engineering, and cost/benefit analysis can benefit the district. I am a member of the District Advisory Committee and look forward to continuing to serve my community. I have no children in the school nor any anyone employed by the district ensuring I have an unbiased decision envelope.
1: Ensuring ACGC moves into the top 25% of state schools, top 10% in reading, and increasing technical education. 2: Supporting the adoption of curriculum changes, but offering guidance to ensure the changes fit our community. Example; the state department of education changes to the social studies curriculum can be accommodated but with tweaks to ensure the core of social studies is retained. 3: Continue to work the existing strategic plan making it a reality to parents and tax payers.

I support placing a resource officer in the school, at least on a part time basis. We need to create a climate where students become willing to hold each other accountable to high standards of ethics and behavior.

I am here to serve my community. I would like to work with our administration to support the mission of ACGC. This role is about serving and supporting the education of all children in our district.
1. A safe and secure environment for education. Our children and school staff deserve this. 2. Representing the concerns and needs of our community within the administrative team. It is important that our community is represented as a whole. 3. Striving to sustain a high quality education for our kids. As parents and community members, we want a healthy and high functioning school district.
I will ask questions, educate myself on safety initiatives, and work with local agencies to find the best fit for our schools.

I have been on the ACGC School board for 12 years; I am a Grove City Native living south of town on a farm near Rosendale. I have 2 children that went to School at ACGC, they are now 20 and 24. Wife Nyla for 30 years

I am very proud to represent the communities of ACGC on the school board.

I do my best to represent the educational concerns of all 3 communities.

I have always advocated for transparency, and community involvement in decisions made at ACGC.

I was the leading advocate for ACGC to form the District Advisory Committee. This committee needs to have more input in school decisions instead just being made aware of decisions that are made.

I advocate for rigid evaluation of all staff, and that needed changes happen

Improving education. Although test scores are not the only indicator of a good education, we must improve in this area. More & better Tech. Education at ACGC.

Advocating for a resource officer at the Sr. High School. This is very necessary to promote responsibility amongst our students and educate them about the consequences of illegal activities.

Ethics. Hold all students and staff accountable to ethical standards put forth by the community.--

Mental health!--

4-day week!

I will continue to advocate for a student resources officer. ACGC needs to always be evaluate safety concerns for our students. It is also very important to consider the opinion of the parent's and community members in this area
